The Beans and Cornbread Dinner is RCCR's major annual fund raiser. The first Big Bean Dinner, as it is often called, was first held in 1996 and that first dinner was hosted by First Presbyterian Church in Charleston.

This informal attire dinner is normally held the Thursday before Thanksgiving at 6:00 p.m. and is hosted by one of our 33 member congregations.

Current and former residents of the Samaritan Inn as well as volunteers prepare the meal of brown beans, greens, cornbread, and oven fried potatoes. The dinner is also known for its delectable desserts which are prepared by various congregants of our member congregations.

The program and dinner, replete with guest speaker, organizational updates, and entertainment, is typically over within 1 hour. Come and enjoy!
