Fairfield Initiative

Building Opportunity in Huntington

The Fairfield Initiative focuses on expanding affordable housing and revitalizing the Fairfield neighborhood of Huntington through new construction, rehabilitation, and strong community partnerships.

This effort represents RCCR’s early investment in the neighborhood, building on our experience in Charleston while working to create quality housing and support long-term community stability.

Why It Matters

The Fairfield Initiative addresses the need for quality affordable housing while supporting neighborhood revitalization and stability. By investing early and working alongside local partners, this effort lays the foundation for long-term growth, improved housing conditions, and expanded opportunities for residents in the Fairfield neighborhood of Huntington.

Our Approach

Housing
Development & Home Repair

Constructing new single-family homes and duplexes while rehabilitating vacant and blighted properties to expand affordable homeownership and restore properties to productive use.

Housing Stabilization & Neighborhood Revitalization

We stabilize existing homes to prevent decline and preserve neighborhood character, while working with partners to return vacant land to productive use through redevelopment and selective demolition.

Pathways to Homeownership & Financial Stability

We are connecting residents to housing counseling, financial literacy, and credit-building services to help them achieve long-term housing stability and prepare for homeownership.

In Action

RCCR began working in Huntington in 2024 with the opening of our local office, expanding access to HUD-certified housing counseling and Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) services.

We are actively building our presence in the Fairfield neighborhood, including a completed home renovation and plans to begin new construction in summer 2026.

Our office is located at 1018 6th Avenue in Huntington, serving as a hub for housing services, community engagement, and future development efforts.
