RCCR provides a managed storage service provided to people experiencing homelessness to store their personal belongings.  Providing a secure storage facility for our unhoused neighbors can unlock the barriers that prevent them from obtaining permanent housing. Working with a case manager, the client, depending on the severity of the identified barriers, can expect to spend at least 3 months and up to 18 months in our program. The goal is for the client to achieve permanent housing.

Provides free clothing for our unsheltered neighbors in partnership with the Kanawha Valley Collective. We do not sell to the general public.

A housing navigator assists with addressing potential housing barriers related to prior housing judgments, credit reports, and criminal records to name a few. 

• Navigating benefits like: SSI, SSDI, Medicaid, Snap.

• Assisting with public and private housing applications.

• Connecting families to any community resource to potentially avoid homelessness and assist persons experiencing homelessness achieve permanent housing.   

This program helps families who are currently homeless to quickly find housing.

• Assistance to cover rental start-up costs, typically the security deposit and first 2-6 months of rent.

• Case Management

Rapid Rehousing referrals are accepted from the Kanawha Valley Collective following HUD's coordinated entry policy.  This program serves families and individuals in Kanawha, Putnam, Fayette, and Boone Counties.

HOME provides effectively coordinated Street Outreach that identifies and engages people living in unsheltered locations, such as in cars, parks, abandoned buildings, encampments, and on the streets, leveraging innovative technology and solutions for ending homelessness.

• The HOME team builds rapport by offering necessities until individuals are ready to seek safer shelter and housing.

• Provides a service-rich engagement strategy providing basic necessities, meals, and cell phones to sustain connections and facilitate communication with housing providers. 

Shower and laundry access also creates opportunities for ongoing communication and connection with service providers. During visits, individuals can receive information about available community resources, housing opportunities, case management, and other supportive services that may help them move toward safer shelter and long-term housing stability.
